Rolling into the Bay of Plenty

June 14, 2018

What’s big, green and covered in colourful spots? The brand new Fit For Work mobile health clinic!

And don’t worry, you can’t catch anything from it. In fact it’s here to help keep the Bay of Plenty community healthier than ever. The mobile clinic is about to hit the roads in the region to take occupational health services directly to the work place. As well as being highly convenient for staff, the new clinic will save time and money. Staff won’t need to travel off site to receive services.

The mobile clinic will be staffed by an experienced team led by Fit For Work occupational health physician Dr Ian Gourlay, and three highly skilled occupational health nurses. Services offered through the mobile clinic include:

  • Health monitoring (hearing, vision, and lung function tests)
  • Pre-employment health assessments
  • Alcohol and drug testing
  • Injury management
  • Speciality medical assessments (heat stress medicals, breathing apparatus medicals, and asbestos medicals)
  • Occupational Health advice
  • Health and wellbeing services
  • Vaccinations
  • Workplace or workstation assessments

Bay of Plenty is the first region where Fit For Work will operate a mobile health clinic, and the team are very excited to get the wheels rolling. A clinic has also been developed at Riverslea Mall, Edgecumbe which can also provide full occupational health services.
