Training for Independence after Traumatic Brain Injury
Fit For Work’s Training for Independence (TI) services are ACC funded and focus on:
- restoring or maintaining a person’s independence and function following injury and
- increasing their participation in everyday activities and their community.
Services are tailored to the needs of the individual, their goals and their recovery journey. We provide these services via our interdisciplinary team, which may include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, speech and language therapist, social workers and occupational physicians.
Fit For Work currently provides Training for Independence Services for clients with a Traumatic Brain Injury throughout the South Island. Our experienced team can support clients and their whanau to understand their injury and work towards their goals for improved independence, participation and function. Intervention may include education, training, support and rehabilitation in the client’s home, community or workplace.
